Video: Bruce Crawley on Bill O'Reilly Show
In September 2002, A. Bruce Crawley launched a city-wide boycott of the racially insensitive Philadelphia Daily News. Three months later he explained the boycott's objectives on the Bill O'Reilly Show.
Beginning in September 2002, A. Bruce Crawley served as a co-founder and coordinator of the Coalition For Fair News Coverage, an organization that was formed to protest the perennial, racially insensitive news coverage and editorials in the Philadelphia Daily News. The Coalition organized a city-wide boycott of the Daily News that continued over a two-and-a-half-year period.
On December 3, 2002, Mr. Crawley was invited to be a guest on the Bill O'Reilly Show to explain the rationale for the boycott.
Because the content of that interview was grossly misrepresented in a December 12, 2002 article in the Philadelphia City Paper, which is still cited online, the entirety of the interview is presented here for those who may be interested.
The boycott of the Daily News ended in February 2005. (www.blackamericaweb.com/site.aspx/bawnews/days201)
